Welcome To The Iasw membership_form2009 (final Version) 151.00 Kb The Irish Association Of Social Workers (iasw) Was Founded In 1971. It Is The National Organisation Of Professional Social Workers In The Republic Of Ireland. Iasw Is Run On a Voluntary Basis by Its Members By Means Of An Elected Executive, Which Meets Once A Month. Council Is The Governing Body Of Iasw. They Meet Four Times Per Year And The Executive Is Answerable To The Council. Council Is Made Up Of Members, Representing Special Interest Groups (sigs) Of The Association. The Sigs Are Really The Life-blood Of Iasw, Creating A Forum For Social Workers Working In Fields Such As Mental Health, fostering, Disability, Child-care, Medicine, ageing And Also In Regional Groups. They Meet Regularly, Run Seminars, And Some Organise Their Own Conferences As Well As Annual General Meetings. The Iasw Is An Active Member Of The International Federation Of Social Workers, Which Represents Professional Social Work Associations From Over 55 Different Countries With More Than 350,000 Social Workers In All Parts Of The World. ...
